Private Consultations

Sometimes families need one-on-one sessions. In those cases, we offer private consultations online, at our St. Paul location, or in the privacy of your home. Considering your lifestyle and needs, we will help you devise a plan to deepen and enrich your relationship with your dog using science-based, humane training methods. We will help you understand your dog’s behaviors and share personalized tools to communicate effectively and motivate your dog to choose behaviors you want rather than those that cause stress. 

To best accommodate our clients' needs, we offer a variety of consultation formats.
Virtual Format
Ideal for people who live outside the Twin Cities, are unsure about where to start, OR live with dogs that are:
  • nervous or fearful around people
  • easily stressed or anxious
  • stressed when visitors enter the home
  • reactive or aggressive toward people

Virtual training allows us to review your circumstances, discuss goals, and develop a preliminary training plan without causing your dog stress. In addition, you’ll be able to focus on the material without managing your dog simultaneously. Because of the lack of distractions, we can usually cover a lot of material during virtual sessions, and we offer a free video recording or our session upon request. ​

This is an excellent option for first-time clients who are comfortable with technology. ​​

In-person Format
Best for people who prefer not to use technology, want help with puppy training plans, OR live with dogs that:
  • are comfortable with strangers
  • need to help with basic training (sit, down, come, stay) 
  • pull on leashes or get distracted on walks
  • ​fight with other animals in the home

At our St. Paul training space

Our large, open training space in downtown St. Paul will allow you and your dog to work in an unfamiliar environment, focus in the presence of distractions, prepare for class environments, and engage in various enrichment activities. This is a perfect choice for confident dogs learning manners or working on attention and focus.

At your home

If you prefer not to travel, we can come to you! Our in-person sessions at your home are a good choice if you are working on issues specific to your home environment and/or your dog is anxious, fearful, or uncomfortable in busy areas. We also recommend this for dogs that are struggling to get along with other members of the household. 
 

DETAILS​

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Price $160 within 20 miles of St. Paul (55104), after which a $2 per mile travel fee is added during most hours and a $2.50 per mile fee is added for appointments during rush hour, between the hours of 4:00-6:00p on weekdays.
